Flashing… Lights.

Hello All! Join me atBirth!!

City Lights Theatre Company says it’s “the naked truth about childbirth in America”.

Sunday, August 30th, 2009 BirthA Play by Karen Brody, will be featured at The Crestwood Plaza in Crestwood, Missouri.

Birth is based on hundreds of  interviews the writer, Karen Brody, conducted with American women who’d given birth between the years of 2000 and 2004. “It tells the true stories of 8 women painting a portrait of how low-risk, educated women are giving birth in America today.”BoldAction.org

The characters range from different backgrounds, birthing preferences and esteems; providing an array of physical outcomes.“This play is a chance to look into the societal views that aren’t depicted and the stigma placed onto Childbirth, while opening our hearts and minds to the Journey of ‘being born’.”Consciously Birthing

This is Karen’s first play to come from her BOLD (Birth On Labor Day) organization which was founded in 2006. Their mission is to help mothers solve Maternity care problems while educating and engaging communities in Childbirth issues .

So I’m looking forward to attending on Sunday and hopefully I’ll see some familiar faces. Doors open at 12:30 and for a donation of only $5 you get to see a world renowned play. There will be a panel discussion immediately following the play (3p-4) which I’ll definitely be poking my head into. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to meet up =)

Hope to see you there! Enjoy!
